JW Espo levert met haar nieuwe BioAir-luchtfilter een bijdrage aan deze ondernemingsdoelstellingen. Het filter is jarenlang in Duitsland onder praktijkomstandigheden\u00a0 getest. bureau Tauw heeft in Nederland onderzoek gedaan. De belangrijkste resultaten zijn: meer dan 99% fijnstofreductie, 96,4% geurreductie en 93,4% ammoniakreductie.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Microbiologisch proces<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Het biologische luchtfilter werkt eenvoudig. Verontreinigde lucht wordt met behulp van ventilatoren door het filter geblazen. In het filter wordt de lucht gelijkmatig verdeeld en verplaatst zich langzaam omhoog in een bed met houtsnippers. Via een biochemische omzetting met micro-organismen worden de gewenste stof- en emissiereducties bereikt. Het resultaat is schone en stankloze lucht.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Total Cost of Ownership<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Het bio-filter minimale heeft onderhoudskosten. En in vergelijking met chemische luchtwassers zijn de voordelen aanzienlijk: geen zwavelzuur nodig, als residu geen spuiwater (= water waarin ammoniumsulfaat is opgelost) en een lagere investering. Kortom, een lagere milieubelasting tegen lagere kosten \u2013 zowel Capex als Opex. Het biofilter is derhalve een investering met een lage TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Best Beschikbare Technieken (BBT)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Het biologische luchtfilter heeft industri\u00eble toepassingen in productieomgevingen waar (stof)emissies een rol spelen.\u00a0Voor het beperken van deze emissies selecteren bedrijven de zgn. Best Beschikbare Technieken (BBT). Bij deze selectie gaat het met name om de kenmerken van de gasemissies. Factoren als concentratie en debiet spelen een belangrijke rol. Maar daarnaast ook veiligheidsaspecten, kostenefficiency, onderhoudsbehoefte en milieu-effecten (energie- en waterverbruik en afval).
